What’s In A Logo?

How to Create A Memorable Logo

A compelling logo isn’t just a “must-have” for your business, it is foundational for your brand identity. It has the ability to boost your credibility, stir emotion, and foster loyalty to your brand. Ultimately, a strategic logo is an important driver of your brand's success and market differentiation.

The Psychology Of Logos:

Logo design is important because it directly impacts a customer’s subconscious perception of a brand and elicits an emotional response. These seemingly simple images act as psychological triggers that significantly affect consumer behavior. Strategic choices in colors, shapes, and fonts aim to evoke specific emotions and associations. For instance, rounded shapes in logos typically suggest friendliness and approachability, while angular shapes imply efficiency and professionalism. Color choice is equally impactful, with blue promoting trust and stability, red generating excitement and urgency, and green conveying peace and health, potentially increasing brand recognition by up to 80%.

Logo In Action

Recently, we had the opportunity to create the 45th Anniversary logo for the Greater Irvine Chamber of Commerce. Our first priority for this project was staying true to the overall brand personality, which reflected innovation and inclusivity with an eye to the future. The colors and fonts were to stay the same.

After researching the intent behind the current brand, we set out to design something unique and bold. It needed a “wow factor” that represented the mission of the Chamber.

The Strategy

We positioned the arrow prominently out front to indicate the forward direction of the organization. This created a trajectory toward the future, while recognizing and appreciating the 45 years of history that brought the Chamber to where it is today.

The “45” was placed behind the logo to showcase the history of the Chamber and the path that had already been forged.

The geometric pattern of the 45 symbolized Irvine's inclusivity and diversity. The shape was also inspired by the architecture of the local area.

The unified design brought together the individual elements that worked together to create the whole - a picture of the Irvine Chamber’s mission to advance the economic vitality of greater Irvine now and into the future.

Consider Your Logo

Creating a logo is an intricate process that involves creativity, strategic thinking, and technical skill. A well-designed logo is the cornerstone of a brand’s identity. It fosters recognition and trust among your target audience. Investing in a good logo design for your business will leave a lasting impact and drive your brand’s success.
